Indeed just dropped its Best Cities for Work index, ranking 228 U.S. metro areas of 200,000+ people. Syracuse landed at No. 20 overall, with a top-10 finish in two subcategories: 7th for Economic Opportunity and 9th for Job Quality and Security.

Steve Angeli threw for 263 yards and 3 touchdowns on 20-of-29 passing, Shavane Anderson Jr. rushed for 102 yards and 3 scores on just 10 carries, and Umari Hatcher hauled in 8 catches for 147 yards and 2 more touchdowns. Tim's is trying something new for its busiest weekend of the year: October 10 through 12 (which overlaps with Apple Fest) will be ticketed with limited daily admission. The goal is shorter lines and less packed lot chaos. Pre-purchase is strongly recommended, since door tickets are not guaranteed to be available. Tim's is calling it a one-weekend trial, not a permanent change.

With beef in the political news this week, I figured it made sense to see if anyone has looked into where Wegmans sources their beef. They source vast majority of its beef from a single supplier, Cargill. Wegmans has stuck with Cargill because it lets them audit the supply chain end to end.

A CNY-based rabbi is among eight men arrested in an undercover sting targeting online child exploitation, according to state police. The operation involved suspects arranging to meet with what they believed were underage victims. Charges range across multiple felonies. Full list of names and communities is at the link.

Waymo showed up at the NYS Fair with a driverless car exhibit and a message: robotaxis are coming to a city near you. Central Current takes a hard look at whether the Waymo pitch actually holds up, digging into the safety record, the labor implications for local ride-share drivers, and what a rollout in Syracuse would actually look like.

@syracusehistory pointed out that some downtown utility boxes just got the art treatment. This one by Brooke Schmedicke is really impressive. The project was presented by the Downtown Syracuse Foundation in partnership with the Downtown Committee of Syracuse, with support from CNY Arts, Tomorrow's Neighborhoods Today, the Central New York Community Foundation, and The Art Store.

Olivia Melinski first sat down at the wheel in 2019 during a "sip and turn" night with friends. Her work leans on nature elements and agateware, a technique where colored clays get folded together to create intricate marbled designs, balanced with simpler pieces for contrast. We first spotted her booth at the Keep Going Market a couple of weekends ago and walked away with a few mugs. Give her a follow on Instagram and grab one for yourself at her next pop-up.

That's a wrap for this week, Syracuse. See you next Monday.
